Description: Two-piece white linen suit (coat and trousers) worn by Henry Needham Flynt (1893-1970) during the late 1940s or early 1950s. Henry, along with his wife Helen Geier Flynt (1895-1986), founded the Heritage Foundation, later Historic Deerfield, in 1952. The unlined summer suit, which contains two labels inside the jacket: "Brooks Brothers" and “IMPORTED IRISH LINEN” was probably custom made for Flynt at the storied menswear firm in New York City from imported Irish linen.
