Description: Illuminated quotation by Clara Alquist of a verse from poet Robert Browning's 1841 poem "Pippa Passes." The verse reads: The year's at the spring And day's at the morn; Morning's at seven; The hill-side's dew-pearled; The lark's on the wing; The snail's on the thorn: God's in his heaven— All's right with the world! Pasted and nailed to the back of the frame is a handwritten label inscribed "Clara Alquist / Deerfield/ $35." Clara Alquist Sherman (1876-1944) and her husband, Ernest Sherman, arrived in Deerfield in 1921 and established the Acanthus Studio on Albany Road.
