Description:
Circular bowl having flat base, domed in center, from which sides curve out and back below everted lip. Crown handle, cast in place. Triangular handle bracket. "SG" (believed to be the mark of Samuel Green, Jr., Boston) cast in reverse near tip of handle on underside, S G are backwards. White label "11" on back of porringer. Pewter porringer marked "SG," which is believed to be Samuel Green, Jr. (c.1779-1862), of Boston. This “SG” porringer was made in the Boston area around 1800.
