Description: Oval, cylindrical tinned sheet iron container with straight sides and flat base, slightly shouldered top, also has a circular tinned sheet iron lid which is probably original to the object, the canister is composed of a sheet of iron that is seamed on the side with two other pieces of metal forming the lid and the base, the lid is a friction mount that sits flush to the canister collar, the exterior of the canister is painted with a ground coating of brownish black asphaltum which has mostly flaked off over time, it has also been painted in yellow, green and red enamels on the sides of the canister, is painted with three large and two small cherries, with yellow and green petal leaves, the shoulders of the canister also had yellow leaf decoration, the interior of the canister is slightly rusty, there is much flaking of the paint, and perhaps enhancement of the painted decoration at a later time. On the base of the canister is the pencil inscription, "Stevens/June 15-1935/30"
