Description:
Thrown salt-glazed stoneware jug with ovoid shape, tapered circular base, wide rounded shoulders, narrow circular spout with rounded profile, applied strap handle, and cork inserted into spout, surface of jug is coated in brown slip, painted in red, “49.” on underside of pot. Formerly a part of the Burton N. Gates Collection. Original Gates notecard reads, "Jug./ stoneware. 6.5 in. Leominster."
