Description:
Thrown redware ovoid-shaped jar with large circular mouth with low profile rim, a ledge designed to receive a lid which does not survive, curving sides, tapering to a smaller circular base with molded edge, covered in dark brown, manganese glaze, glaze is slightly metallic. Incised “V” on the base of the pot. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019.
