Description:
Thrown redware ovoid-shaped jar with large circular mouth with low profile rim, a ledge designed to receive a lid which does not survive, curving sides, tapering to a smaller circular base with molded edge, covered in dark brown, manganese glaze, glaze is slightly metallic. Incised ā€œVā€ on the base of the pot. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019.
