Description:
Thrown redware jug with ovoid shape, tapering circular base with molded edge, swelled sides, narrowing neck, flaring spout, and applied, ribbed strap handle, decorated with two incised lines around the neck of the jug, decorated with applied dark splotches of manganese glaze that have flowed down the side of the jug. Possibly made by the Osborn Family Pottery in Peabody, MA. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019.
