Description:
Numerous bowls are mentioned in potter's day books, but few have survived. Their very simple nature offers little in the way of attributable features. Thrown redware bowl with molded foot rim, flaring sides, circular mouth, bowl is decorated with painted splashes of manganese brown glaze on a red ground color on the inside and outside of the bowl, the bowl is in poor condition with two pieces broken out of the side of the bowl and reglued, the rim of the bowl is very rough from glaze loss.
