Description:
Thrown redware jug with ovoid shape and flaring neck, the rim is squeezed together to suggest a spout, attached strap handle, covered in a lead glaze, the surface of the jug is variegated orange glaze with olive drips, and ranges in color from a deep russet to lighter ochre color. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019. Condition: There is a small area in the front of the jug (under the spout) where there is an oval area of glaze loss from being attached to another object in the kiln, there are several large chips and losses to the rim of the jug
