Description:
Thrown, red earthenware jar, cylindrical form with circular flat bottom, straight sides, angled shoulders, cupped upper rim, designed to hold a lid (lid does not survive), covered all over in a yellow-orange lead glaze with green speckles, inscribed on the base in pencil, “Col 1939/Bot ….illegible” This object was originally part of the Burton N. Gates Collection.
