Description: This diminutive taster porringer is of a type similar to those made by I.C. Lewis of Meriden. Lewis' porringers are found with cast initials ICL on the back of the handle. The decoration of the face of both porringers are very similar. This one however, is different than those marked I.C.L. It is felt that these may have been made by Luther Boardman of Meriden, Chester, and East Haddam, Connecticut. Small, cast pewter taster porringer with round bowl and cast tab handle, handle is foliate in outline and is decorated with small dots around the edges and leaves. White paper label on bottom of porringer, "97031"
