Description:
Soft turban-like hat of medium brown velvet ornamented with light and medium brown feathers. Net base. Label: "FREDERICK'S / Montclair Springlake." Worn by Helen Geier Flynt, one of the founders of Historic Deerfield. Mrs. Flynt patronized dressmakers and department stores in the Greenwich, Connecticut, and Springlake, New Jersey, areas, where she and her family lived and vacationed, respectively.
