Description: Colorless, pressed glass decanter, in a female mold, probably of two vertical sections in the form of a cylinder bearing the Reeded pattern with a plain section above; with a plain base plate that formed the base; plain upper section reheated and tooled to form the neck and heavy flange lip, polished pontil mark; interior of neck ground to receive a stopper. The solid stopper; pressed upright in a female mold of two vertical sections bearing the Reeded pattern with a plain cylindrical top that was closed by tooling. The top of stopper is cut and polished; lower end rough ground to fit the neck of the decanter. In data image, this decanter is on the far left hand side. The Reeded pattern is illustrated in the New England Glass Company 1869 catalogue (see Watkins, "Pressed," pp. 154-55, fig. 5) but was undoubtedly made earlier.
