Description:
Stick barometer inscribed "CHARLES WILDER / PETERBORO / N.H." over the silvered brass register plate showing the thermometer on the left and "WOODRUFF'S / PAT / JUNE 5, 1860." over the silvered brass register plate showing barometric pressure on the left side, all set in a wood case with a tall arched crest over a molded glazed door. Both register plates are held in by large round-headed screws. The Charles Wilder Thermometer and Barometer Factory was in operation from 1860 to 1903.
