Description: Housewife or sewing kit (sometimes called a roll-up) used to store sewing thread, pins needles, thimble, small scissors, etc., which was made from several pieces of fabric, including solid colored wools in two shades each of green and brown. The printed linen has small overall printed designs popular 1790-1800; the kit is sacked with an unbleached, plain weave linen. Good condition.
