Description: Queen Anne drop-leaf table with a twelve-sided top, arched skirt and flanking vertical moldings, and carved shells on the knees of the cabriole legs that terminate in pad feet. In January 2000, Jack Lindsey, Curator of Furniture at the Philadelphia Musem of Art, noted that this table, which is very similar to a Philadelphia table exhibited in the "Wordly Goods: The Arts of Early Pennsylvania 1680-1758" exhibition (Philadelphia Musem of Art, October 10, 1999, to January 2, 2000), was probably made in Philadelphia rather than in Maryland as originally thought.
