Description: Small tied-top bag made of printed glazed cotton and linen decorated with large floral sprays in reds, green, yellow and blue, which was said to be owned by Susie Hawks. George Sheldon lists two Susan Hawks: Susan Chase Hawks who was the widow of Levi Hawks (b. 1793), and second wife of Frederick Boyden (b.c.1768-1842) of Deerfield, who married in 1835; and Susan Hawks (1846-1867), the daughter of Francis Hawks (b.1819) and Mary Nims (b.1822) of Deerfield. There is a small piece of paper attached to the bag with the word "worsteds."
