Description: Chinese export porcelain round saucer in black, green, blue, white, rose, brown, iron red enamels and gilding. The center well has the arms of Chrichton-Freke. The rim has a gilt spear head border and brownish gilt at edge. This is from one of four Chrichton of Ruthven services, two of which have Freke impaled. Possibly made for a family member of Patrick Chrichton, first officer of the "Earl of Elgin" at Canton in 1764.
