Description: Windsor rocking chair with the base painted black, black accents, grain painting, and pin striping. The Boston rockers, developed from the more slender Salem-type rockers, became very popular because of their low cost, comfort, and simple decoration. The chair has a scrolled crest rail with two small arches on each side of the bottom edge, all outlined in black; scrolled arms ending in rounded hand grips; grain painted scrolled or rolled seat with gold pinstripe outlines; and turned front legs and stretcher with plain side and back stretchers and legs.
