The text is from the book "American Visitor" by Irish author Joyce Cary. The story is about an anthropologist who travels to the village of Nok in Nigeria. She believes she has found heaven, as the tribesmen are unfettered by the constraints and complications of Western civilization. Her beliefs are challenged as the tribal territories are being taken away from them by white prospectors.
