Description:
George, No. 12926
See No. 12924. Two sets of four dance vigorously holding hands, the ladies together, but turning towards their partners. Two men talk in front of the fireplace, a third bows to a seated lady. All are dandified, their dress more burlesqued than in Nos. 12924, 12925. The room is lit by fantastic gas chandeliers in the form of Chinese mandarins. On the chimney-piece is a statuette of an athlete holding up a lighted candle; a clock surmounts the mirror above it; on this is a figure of Time seated on a single feathered wing, and holding a winged hourglass. Cf. No. 12936.
