Description: central panel from a vertical ōban triptych; nishiki-e; bijinga
Label Text: This print is signed at lower middle "Kōchōrō Kunisada ga" ('drawn by Kōchōrō Kunisada'). To the right of the seal are visible the circular kiwame seal of the censor and the mark of publisher Yamamotoya Heikichi of the firm Eikyūdō. This print has been dated based on the style of Kunisada's signature, which was in use from ca. 1825–1861, and the presence of the single kiwame seal, which began in 1815 and continued until 1842. Another impression of this panel, along with its companion panels, is held by the Boston MFA (acc. no. 34.421a-c).
