omocha-e; toy print; ōban size sheet

Label Text:
This print is signed at lower-right of the title panel "Yoshifuji ga" ('drawn by Yoshifuji'). An omocha-e, or toy print, the consumer was meant to cut out the various pieces in order to construct a pleasure house complete with beauties and patrons. The horizontal band at top-right, when cut and folded, itself becomes a small album of various toys and souvenirs. Yoshifuji made several such omocha-e. As there no identifying marks, aside from the artist's signature, the dating of this print has been estimated on stylistic grounds.
