Label Text:
The actor's name is printed in large kanji vertically descending at top-right. At lower-left is the artist's signature, which reads "Gototei Kunisada ga" ('drawn by Gototei Kunisada'). To the lower-right of the signature is the circular kiwame seal of the censor, beneath which is the seal of publisher Kawaguchiya Shōzo, only partially visible. The small circular seal at far lower-left, in which is printed the kanji for the number one, has yet to be identified, but could indicate an order in a series.

While there is no precise date of publication yet determined, Kawaguchiya Shōzo did not begin printing until 1824 and this actor held the name Ichikawa Danjūrō until the second lunar month of 1832.
