Description: vertical ōban triptych; tate-e ōban triptych; sensō-e; nishiki-e
Label Text: Another example of this design is held by the Boston MFA (2000.380.21a–c), which is dated to October, 1894. It is likely that this impression is from the original edition given its sharpness of line, which appears to be superior to the Boston impression. It is possible, though less likely based on its condition, that it, like many of the other prints in this album, may be from a later edition. There are no surviving publisher's marks (originally on the left margin, which has been trimmed for inclusion in the album), so a certain attribution is not possible at this point. - BB, 2014
