Label Text:
In the period after World War II, photographers like Boubat were important to creating a new French national identity with their images. These four chic figures posed at the upscale Place des Vosges epitomize the image of French style that continues to dominate fashion and design. Within the frame of the doorway, Boubat sets the detachment of the adult models against the intimacy of the girls.
