Description: Visual description: This round medal depicts in low relief the faces of four men in profiles facing each other. In the center, there is a small compass, with North pointing towards the top left corner, East to the top right, South to the bottom right, and West to the bottom left. Four thick bands extend from the compass to segment the medal into quadrants. In the top left quadrant, a White man with short hair faces a man of Asian descent with a partially bald head. A Black man faces the middle in the bottom right quadrant, with curly hair pulled into a bun and long tribal marks on his face. An Indigenous man’s face is turned inward in the bottom left quadrant, his hair plaited and a long stalk of grass behind him. The words “Proclaiming Liberty Every One to His Brother” are inscribed around the edge of the medal.
