Description:
English delft circular plate with blue decoration. The well is decorated with a large peony with other flowers, scrolling leaves and three-part bamboo. The curvature has diaper-work areas alternating with stylized flower heads, and the outer rim has a narrow diaper-work band. Lipski and Archer's, "Dated English Delftware", has a similar plate dated 1760.
