Description:
Fully fashioned pair of women's silk stockings. Before the 1960s, stockings could not be knitted without a seam to fit them to the legs. "Fully fashioned" refers to the process of "fashioning" the stockings to a fit during manufacture by enclosing the shape using a center back seam. One stocking is marked "Miss Carolina/ Lanolin Treated..." Possibly worn with wedding dress 2012.23.1
